Mari Rantanen er utdannet ved Pratt Institute i New York og det Finske Kunstakademiet i Helsinki.

Som grafiker arbeider Mari Rantanen med monotypi, og skaper unike bilder i abstrakte komposisjoner. 
Mari Rantanen har hatt utstillinger i Berlin, Paris og Oslo, og er representert i en rekke museer og samlinger internasjonalt.
