Pälvi Hanni (f.1972)
Pälvi Hanni er utdannet ved Kankaanpää Art School og arbeider som grafiker med etsning som teknikk.
Pälvi Hanni’s production of the first years of the 21st century can be identified by semi-abstracted, semi-polymergravure echoes of young women’s lives and her childhood setting in Hailuoto. The year 2002 that she worked in France was a refreshing time, which developed her current visual idiom significantly.
Pälvi Hanni - ekko av unge kvinner
A romantic catalogue combining Hanni’s personal history with fragments of nature has given way to new focus areas. Her colours are fresher and purer and the overall expression has become more abstract and painterly. Moreover, her images contain more light.
As a printmaker, Hanni is multiply skilled; traditional line etching and aquatint take turns with copy etching and chine collé. Hanni favours the combination of polymer and aquatint where a photograph brings subtle figurativeness and is also simultaneously engaged in a dialogue with an abstract, painterly effect.
Pälvi Hanni har hatt utstillinger ved en rekke gallerier i Finland.
